Sarvam and C-DAC come together to build India’s sovereign AI stack, from silicon to application
Sarvam and C-DAC have signed an MoU to bring indigenous computing infrastructure, AI models and production-ready applications together as one integrated sovereign stack.

A fully sovereign AI stack brings indigenous compute, intelligence and applications together.
Sarvam has built India’s AI stack from the model layer upward, with foundational models trained on Indian data, inference infrastructure designed for scale, and applications deployed across critical sectors. The partnership with C-DAC extends this work to the compute layer, bringing indigenous hardware, models and applications together in one sovereign stack.
C-DAC, the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, is India’s premier R&D organisation under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. For more than three decades, it has shaped the country’s indigenous computing capabilities, from the landmark PARAM supercomputer series to the high-performance computing systems used by some of India’s most critical institutions.
This partnership brings those capabilities together. Sarvam’s models, infrastructure and applications will run on the computing foundation developed by C-DAC, creating an indigenous AI stack that extends from hardware to application.
Running Sarvam on
C-DAC infrastructure
The collaboration begins with deployments where the infrastructure running a model matters as much as the model itself.
Sarvam’s stack will run on C-DAC’s compute infrastructure, reducing dependence on hardware and systems owned or operated elsewhere. For government and strategic-sector deployments, this provides stronger assurance that the models, the machines running them and the sensitive data moving through them remain within an India-built environment.
Over time, the partnership will extend to a broader set of Sarvam products and use cases running on C-DAC infrastructure.
The foundation for
deeper collaboration
The MoU establishes the foundation for a broader partnership, including the joint development and demonstration of Sarvam products on C-DAC hardware, along with continued research and co-development for government and strategic-sector applications.
Together, Sarvam and C-DAC are closing a critical gap in India’s sovereign AI stack by connecting indigenous compute with indigenous intelligence and the applications built on top.
